Osamu Tezuka is considered the pioneer of contemporary anime in Japan. At a young age, he started to shoot small animations with his 8 mm camera and was inspired by the works of Walt Disney and Max Fleischer. A new style called anime has emerged with the works of artists who followed in his footsteps.
