One of the interesting features of owls is that their ears are webbed. They open it when they want it, they close it when they want it. In a state of rest and slow flight, they open the ear curtain, and in fast flights, they close it. In the daytime, when the sensitivity of their eyes and ears is less useful, they nap on their perches or sunbathe on tree branches.
