Ash Ketchum is the main character of the Pokémon anime. “I Chose You, Pokémon!” which first aired on Japanese screens in 1997. As he stated in the first chapter, named Pallet Town, he left his hometown for the sake of his biggest dream of becoming a Pokémon master, and started a long-term adventure with only Pikachu by his side.
