Butterfly is the general name given to the winged members of the order of insects, scale-winged or butterflies (Lepidoptera). about 150,000 species are known.
Their bodies are covered with scales that are barely visible to the colored eye in the form of a tile arrangement. The scales are enlarged hairs with flattened ends. They break off in small jolts.
The size of their wings, of which there are two pairs, varies according to the species. Very few species and females of some species do not have wings. The mouthparts of the suction type are hose-shaped. When not in use, this hose curls in the form of a spiral on the underside of the head and absorbs honey essence.
They taste the honey of flowers with their feet. The taste buds are located at the feet. They control the water of the flower with their feet. If they like it, they will suck it by extending their curled hoses.
