Elephants are creatures that have fascinated the hearts and imaginations of human beings from past to present, despite their rather large size, they have a gentle nature.
There are two species of African and Asian elephants that have survived to the present day. however, some genetic researchers suggest that the African elephant is two separate species, the savannah and forest elephants.
Asian elephants, of which all species are at risk of extinction, live in forests and grasslands in India and Southeast Asia. The African elephant population migrates between dense forests and arid deserts in 37 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
Among these sensitive and gigantic creatures, Asian elephants can reach up to six tons and 11 feet long, while African elephants range from 8 to 13 feet tall and weigh more than six and a half tons. Life expectancy in both African and Asian elephants is approximately 60 to 70 years.
