Cubone is referred to as a solitary Pokémon for his tendency to restrain himself and avoid social interactions due to the trauma caused by his mother’s death.

Cubone often mourns his mother by crying at night. This Pokémon wears the skull of its deceased mother. Sometimes Cubon’s dreams make him cry, but every tear that Cubon sheds makes him stronger.

When Cubone cries, the skull he wears vibrates and makes a “sad and mournful sound.”

It is said that Cubone will transform into Marowak when confronted with the death of his mother.
