Uzbekistan is a Central Asian country. Its official name is the Republic of Uzbekistan and the country has no coastline. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan make up the neighboring countries of Uzbekistan. The Republic of Uzbekistan is one of the 7 independent Turkish states together with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Turkmenistan. Uzbek is the official language of Uzbekistan, used by the Uzbek people. While Uzbeks represent 80% of the people of Uzbekistan, there are also a small amount of Russian and Tajik people in the country. Again, the majority of the population of Uzbekistan is Muslim, while the Uzbek people belonging to the Orthodox faith are very few in number.

Sirideya (Seyhun) and Amuderya (Ceyhun) rivers are the two important rivers in the country. The Aral lake, on the other hand, is the largest lake in the geography of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan has a very rich position in terms of underground resources. Especially uranium, natural gas and gold take the first place among the export resources of Uzbekistan. Likewise, cotton, which is frequently grown among the agricultural products of Uzbekistan, occupies a serious place among the export products of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan has a population of around 27 million. While Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent is the defining city of Uzbekistan’s economy, politics and urban life. Namangan, Fergana, Andijan, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Kokand, Karsi, Urganch, Nukus are other important cities of Uzbekistan.
