Winnie the pooh is actually a children’s novel written in the 1920s, it consists of three volumes. the characters in the book were inspired by the author a a milne’s son christopher and his toys, winnie the bear, piglet piglet, donkey eeyore and tiger tigger are all little christopher’s rag toys.
The book was illustrated by Ernest H Shepard, an illustrator of children’s classics such as Wind in the Willows, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and a longtime friend of a a Milne, looking at the toys mentioned.
For eighty years, the very simple yet adorable stories of winnie and her friends have been read to western brats by their parents before they go to sleep at night.
