Mandalas, often circular or square in shape and symbolizing the mystical center of all things, are used as a meditation tool.
In Hinduism, there are mandalas that represent the cosmic dance of Siva and Sakti, and in Buddhism, there are mandalas that represent the Land of the Buddha or the Buddha.
In Buddhism, Mandalas are important symbols that remind the person who believes in them of the sacredness in the universe and the potential state of that same sacredness within that person. In Buddhism, the purpose of the mandala is to end one’s difficulties by bringing one to enlightenment and to the right idea of truth.
