Sting returned to professional wrestling in late 2002 by participating in WWA’s European tours. Sting’s debut in WWA was on November 28, 2002. Sting teamed up with Luger to face Buff Bagwell and Malice. On December 6 in Glasgow, Luger and Sting faced off for the vacant WWA WHC and won the match with the help of Luger Jeff Jarrett, but Sting got his revenge on December 13 in Zurich to become the new WWA WHC.
